At last we have our school in Jaipur
After a lot of work and all our enthusiasm — and that of our local partner Impact Beyond Borders — we launched the project during 2024, and in April 2025 we managed to open it.
Initially (2025-2026 school year) it has capacity for 100 children (80 girls and 20 boys) from a slum in Jaipur. The school — officially accredited under the Indian government — is free and has 5 teachers for the different subjects. Most of these children have no chance to attend school, since they usually work with their parents. That’s why this school already represents a hugely important impact, allowing them to break out of the slum cycle and build a dignified life.
In the last International Cooperation call we had the support of Málaga City Council, which contributes roughly 30% of the funds needed. The rest is our responsibility and commitment, which we meet through the girls’ sponsorships and the Foundation’s own funds.
For 2025, we’re expanding capacity to 125 children and will serve two slums. And of course, the project once again has the support of Málaga City Council for the 2025-2026 year, with a budget of €76,781.60, broken down into the public grant (Málaga City Council) of €21,331.20 plus the Foundation’s own funds.
In addition, the Foundation sends international volunteers to support the teachers with lessons and activity planning. Periodically, volunteers from the Medicine and Health program carry out medical check-ups for all the children.
We’re very happy with how our project is going, and we hope to strengthen it and serve more children every year.
