Family Solidarity Trip to India

India Family Volunteering Viaje Organizado

COME TO INDIA WITH YOUR FAMILY: TRAVEL, ENJOY, AND TEACH YOUR
CHILDREN BY EXAMPLE

These days, travel is increasingly about EXPERIENCES. So if you’re considering a family vacation, why not turn it into an unforgettable experience for everyone by combining it with volunteering?

A handful of immersive experiences with the locals, days full of volunteer activities, hours of fun sightseeing, and lots of moments “together” — that’s the perfect recipe for a family trip.

Cooperate, enjoy, and teach your children… a whole life lesson packed into 2 weeks.

Activities

  • A balanced mix of volunteering and travel experiences.
  • 2 weeks long, with excursions and work on volunteer projects such as TEACHING, WOMEN AND GIRLS EMPOWERMENT, GIRLS’ ORPHANAGE, and CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION.
  • A guide accompanying you on excursions and 24/7 support, 7 days a week.
  • Activities for the children based on their age or interests.
  • Suitable for young children and teenagers.
  • Option to enroll older children in a local school for the duration of the program, where they’ll discover learning methods, culture in a foreign country, and, of course, some friends!
  • Cultural activities you’re sure to remember.

Why do family volunteering?

  1. It strengthens family bonds while sharing valuable experiences with your children and partner.
  2.  You live an experience to remember in the future.
  3.  You teach by example: what better way to teach your children than by setting an example with your own volunteer work?
  4.  It’s a chance to share real quality time.
  5.  It’s a lesson in tolerance: being away from the comforts of home or a luxury hotel can help your children appreciate a good life over materialism.
  6.  It’s a great cultural experience and travel experience.
  7.  It teaches the joy of giving to the community or the environment.
    1. Gratitude for what they have; they’ll be surprised when they see the less fortunate and realize they can be just as happy, or happier.
    2. Humildad implícita en cada actividad de voluntariado, Tolerancia hacia formas de pensar y de vivir diferentes.
    3. Respect for others, especially the disadvantaged and those with disabilities,
    4. Generosity of spirit, by acquiring “the habit of giving” during their volunteer work.
    5.  Kindness toward people, children, and animals.
    6.  Respect for the environment.
    7.  It boosts your children’s self-esteem and confidence as they carry out their daily volunteer activities alongside their parents. Volunteering helps children see that they have the power to change others’ lives.
  8. It’s a great opportunity to pass on VALUES to your children:
    1.  It helps your children learn skills for their future:
    2. Problem-solving.
    3.  Patience and perseverance, as they encounter situations they may not be prepared for.
    4. Teamwork on the volunteer project

A volunteer’s day to day

The volunteers you’ll live with come from all over the world and are very different people. But sharing such a profound experience gives the volunteer house a warm atmosphere of companionship and friendship that you feel the moment you land. It’s something close, something special.

So, among friends, your day starts with breakfast in the dining room before heading to your project, where you’ll be welcomed with open arms, since volunteers are highly valued and respected in India. You’ll work roughly from 9:00 to 12:30 or 1:00. Lunch, some free time, and back to work — which is nothing but enormously rewarding time, where your help will give you more than it gives them.

In the afternoons, back at the volunteer house, you’ll have free time to explore the city or take part in the program’s cultural immersion activities. And on weekends… free to rest, or to travel!

Accommodation and meals

The Volunteer House in Jaipur is ideally located for project participants: a residential area near the center, with shops, restaurants, a hospital, transportation, etc. It has rooms for 1 to 4 people with a cooler and bathroom, shared lounges and dining room, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, a washing machine with drying rack, fridges, a bookcase, lockers, and more.

And always under the supervision and care of the coordinator. Everything so you feel at home.

As for the food, Indian dishes are prepared that are, yes, a little spicy, but you’re sure to love them. Rice, legumes, wheat chapati, vegetables…. Meals are included per the program.

And if you want a more intense cultural immersion experience, you can also stay with a host family. Very hospitable, they’re a safe, comfortable, and culturally enriching option for a volunteer in India. Our network of carefully selected, experienced families are upper-middle class, with children and/or relatives in their care, and their homes are located near basic services such as markets, public transportation, and shopping centers.

PROGRAM EXCURSIONS
